oh god yes - it's a bit too similar to "imaginary mice" as well

Ah - that might explain why I keep reading it as "imaginary friend of the mice".

I hope the poor thing isn't reading this. How will ze ever start posting now?

The really hard part is that even once ze changes hir name, the old one will still be shown for the next month.

If it's any consoltaion, MC, you have my utmost respect for having managed not to. It's been beyond me, I'm afraid. And I tried. God, how I tried.

Certain posters' inability to spell "consolation". That REALLY dicks me off something chronic.

Strictly speaking, I think that's a Barbefeud rather than a Barbannoy.

Long-time barbannoy - people who direct us towards either the Guardian or the BBC websites as if we had never previously heard of either, and this is a gift to be dispensed with a king's love for his people or a farmer's love for his cattle.

Stoat-ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH
18:37 / 15.07.05
*sigh*

People who STILL don't understand that a king has no need to love his people, as he has rights over their cattle, and loving THEM instead causes a lot less problems when it comes to figuring out the succession...

I think there's something about it in the Guardian today...

Are you still in denial, Stoatie?

this is the first topic on barbelith to make me giggle uncontrollably.

And that annoys you?

I have developed the habit of highlighting texts, when I read them. It started years ago, when in a certain forum the text was darkgreen on darkpurple. Most of the time, the highlighting makes the reading much easier. But in Conversation, highlighting is of no use: the letters are still black on grey. Thatīs a bit annoying.

I can't find a thread because I can't remember what it's about, only the snippy threadrot. Now I can't respond to the sniping Grr!

Try searching it in google: type "barbelith" and what you remember of the snipping. Maybe it turns up.

Wow! That's handy to know, I didn't realise Barb was googlable (for reference it was the demystifying of alien life thread, Haus and I patronising each other about the influence of church on state).

Is it me, or are there more frame-breaking names active on the board at the moment? I know you need to ask Tom to fix these in the first 28 days, but I wish people would. They make threads look so stairsy.

Headsick and rage have been abandoned in favour of pissiness.

I was going to post the same comment IN the Headsick thread but thought better of it, for the sake of the Barbe-Space/Time continuum.

I've just misread the new episode of the STEVEBENFOX SAGA as
STEVE GOT MARRED!!!!!! (yep it's all over people)

That's my Barbannoy Steve should've got marred.

Ms Triplets, Stoatie; me too.

Stoatie, Triplets, Olulabelle, there's a new thread for that now. The old one is now just being run into the ground like a derelict oil tanker.

Oh, I know, and I'm very grateful to Bizunth for that. Just a shame it had to happen, though (and a bit rubbish to watch); I loved the old one like a home. Moving into the new one feels a bit strange.

Smoothly
02:17 / 19.07.05
Oh, I know what you mean. The only thing that's ever motivated me to post to it was witnessing its sorry demise.

To get this thread back on track:

Today I'm mostly annoyed with people not linking in barbequotes. If you found it funny, for dog's sake link to the thread. Some of those things are really only funny when you get them in the context of the thread they appear in.

Fuck, that is so splitting hairs, Olulabelle. If you wanted to that then you should have at least waited a bit.

There's nothing worse than someone thatting prematurely...
