Did anyone see the otter cubs in Metro? I assume they have been born at London Zoo or similar. I didn't really read the article, because too busy going "otter cubs!"

FEHHHHHHHWWWWWWETT!

One thing I love about BCN: all the people who a) keep ferrets and b) take dah fewwets walkins onna tiiiny lead.

A few months ago, someone abandoned a ferret in the city. There were letters in our Metro analogue protesting this heinous act for like 3 weeks afterwards.

Ok, coyotes are cute at just about every stage of development. They're also quite intelligent. My old dog was a beagle-whippet-shepherd-coyote cross (or so the vet said), and was both cute, friendly, playful, and devestatingly intelligent for a dog. A bit weird, though...with his tendency to put a bone on the floor, cover it in invisible dirt, walk away happy, and get annoyed when you found it (yes...the dog would actually put the bone on the hardwood floor, PRETEND that it was burying it in the lawn, and walk away).

This thread has taught me that baby aardvaarks are the best animals ever in appearance, I think. Well, they look funny, but in a really good way.

Does anyone happen to know what aardvaarks are really like as creatures? Do they deal well with people? Have nice sunny temperaments? I know so little about them*, other than of course their eternal place at the beginning of zoological encylopaedias.

*Yes, I know that's what Google is for. I was wondering about personal experiences.

Apparently they make lousy pets -- asocial, nocturnal, and all they want to do is DIG.

Here's a picture of a homeless kitten that used to hang around outside our residences last winter with its family. They ran off at some point. We haven't seen them since.

Re: Mistoffelees' tiny... tiny... thing, about a month back in the thread. I think it's a juvenile Siberian Dwarf Hamster. Had a couple of grown ones I got as a kid from a not-very-reputable dealer; they both died of something or other within weeks. They were maybe a third again as large as that.

On a lighter note, Mist, that Scottish Fold is disturbingly adorable. But then, that's Scottish Folds for you. Something about the bugeyes in the big round heads with the tucked-in ears.

Oh, and little known fact: That particular kitten, in a clever disguise, once played with the band KISS. 'strue.
