Seriously, I can’t remember ever checking my height before now. It turns out I’m actually 5 foot, 11 ½ inches, aka 182 centimetres. And now I want to know if that makes me statistically normal.

I kept my mouth shut, wisely as it turned out. Not only was this teacher rather large and with crazy hair and beard, but over the years I discovered that he was a bit of a loose canon and a pisshead. I was reliably informed that he was once seen late at night charging through town with no shoes on and a case of beer on his shoulder. Scary.

Boboss -I realise that on reading the thread, but throughout school all my friends (girls also) were very tall. I think our group averaged at about 5'9", (must be the good Scottish air) so I started to think of myself as being 'the wee one'!
