|Well, Squirmelia, say you're coming from Covent Garden tube, crossing Long Acre and into Neal Street. A few yards down you've got Size on your left. That's more fashion oriented, but worth a quick look. Next-door to that is the Natural Shoe Shop, although I'm not sure if it's any good for trainers. |
Then take a left between Diesel and Urban Outfitters into Earlham Street. Duck into that little arcade on your right - Thomas Neal's. There are loads of skate/surf-type places in there (Boxfresh, Quicksilver, Freerider, Fat Face, Hi Jinks... places with names like that. Skate-shoe central). If you come out of Thomas Neal's through the opposite entrance, you're on Shorts Gardens and there's a place there called My Trainers which, I think, sells old-season or end-of-line shoes pretty cheaply. You might get a result there. Rejoin Neal Street proper and you've got Offspring up on your right (which has a large and varied stock for a small shop) and nearby you've got Office and Sole, if you want to cover those bases. Also a place called Egoshego which I think stocks some less mainstream brands - although I might be wrong about that.
Ooh, and if you're looking for a bargain, try the Office sale shop, 5 minutes away on St Martin's Lane. I've picked up trainers for about a tenner there in the past.
