| I've disagreed the lock, because... well, because I don't think there's any point in locking it, and I am eager to discourage unnecessary uses of the lock function. There may be a case for locking it just because it's getting a bit long at some point, and on occasion - I think the "Barbe-feud" thread, maybe - very long threads have bust the board (I think the Q and A thread is probably a case in point). As it is, though - it's a thread in Conversation, and at least keeping it there will hopefully avoid running battles breaking out across the board. A degree of Mathletics is probably inevitable in any such discussion, and can largely be used as a springboard for learning, I hope. |
