It's so common - for example, Forge and Cypher were always cast off as lightweights in X-Men in spite of the fact that their intuitive abilities would give them massive power and influence in the real world.
i think Cypher, especially, was the wrong character at the wrong time. i'd like to think that people would have appreciated his powers more if he had debuted in the Information Age. that's probably wishful thinking, though.
i wish this big war would get to down to it already...though.
really? i was thinking the exact opposite after i read that last issue. i was surprised at how effectively Waid's been able to build up an epic sense of scope in only 8 issues. to me, the war feels like it's been a long time coming, but it really hasn't been that long, and that, to me, is a testament to the quality of writing. |
