Britney Spears never went out pantyless: She just happened to become off her face and pissed herself. Removing them was a comfort thing, not an exhibition thing...

I never read it, so I don't know how good it actually is, but, man!, "Mona Lisa Overdrive" is an awesome title for a book.

It's quite a good book, but probably not the best of the Sprawl series.

But that aside I actually came here to take about this . All I can say is I hope they watch out for eldritch squamous monsters from out of time that are undescribably horrible.

I love the comments on that link - obviously for Mike from Brighton in England and Andrew from Manchester in the UK a story about the investigation of a lost city is too good an opportunity to miss as regards getting on the old anti-environmentalist anti-taxation hobbyhorse.

"Those storms were the product of man-made global warming. Medieval Britain clearly had too many patio heaters and 4x4s.
Mike, Brighton, England"

"Maybe someone should have informed the government of the 15th century to increase taxation on "wind" so as to reduce the number of old & outdated sea-borne vehicles and thus prevent climate change. Then again, better not. This government would probably take it serious...
Andrew, Manchester, UK"

Wah wah wah, I want to keep driving my SUV to work with just me and my suit in it. Wah wah wah, I want to eat my fake barbecue on the patio without having to go in for a cardie. Wah wah wah, I don't ever have to want to reflect on my lifestyle or the impact it's having on the rest of the world. Waaaaahhhh!

Anybody coming out with that kind of shite at this juncture should be rounded up at gunpoint, deported to the poorest, most famine-ridden and flood-prone nations on Earth and forced to fend for themselves.

Though said nations would probably resent being used as some sort of glorified weekend sensibility course facilty for rich first-worlders

But switch "forced to fend for themselves" for "do some community service" and we might have a deal.

Times: Gordon Brown’s leadership standing has now fallen below that of Iain Duncan Smith during his short-lived and unhappy period as the Conservative Party leader, according to the latest Populus poll in The Times today.

Wait, Gordon Brown became Tory leader? That explains an awful lot.

I hate winter. And, mind you, we have a it-doesn't-even-snow kind of winter here at home. I'd probably have gone nuts a long time ago if I lived in the Northern Hemisphere.

Thank human civilization for hot showers, tho.

Who would win in an all-out war: The Smurfs or the Fraggles? (Fraggles without the Dozers help, of course: that would be too one-sided...)
I want to say the Fraggles, but Ol' Papa's a wiley wizard...

Personally speaking, I never heard of those Fraggles before, so I'd imagine they already lost the war, and the Smurfs are guilty of genocide.

I actually won a gameshow once when I was about 14 by correctly answering a question about Fraggles.

BUT I came here to express my worry that I spend too much time, not only on the internet, but on those certain parts of the internet that warp your mind.

I have found myself saying "good dog is good" to Sheena instead of the more traditional "good dog". And I'd been doing it for a couple of days before I noticed.

Hey, Sheena's just lucky I got her when I did. A few months later and she'd have been called Mudkip.

Incidentally, straw poll here. Mudkip hair (blue with orange bits over the ears). A good idea or a shit one?

Mudkip hair for a couple of weeks, see if it works, then if not revert to the previous. What have you got to lose? If someone sees you in the street and recognises the mudkip colours, who's geekier; you for having it or them for knowing it? Plus, it's got to be better than fucking squirtle hair.

Didn't want to clog the "Gender in Albania" thread...

I can’t clean, I can’t iron, I can’t cook. That is a woman’s work.

I'm reminded of a line from one of my favorite books:

"I've heard men complain about having to do women's work, and women complaining about doing men's work, but I've never heard the work complain, as long as it got done!"

Dr. Alan Hirsch is the author of "What's Your Food Sign, How To Use Food Clues To Find Lasting Love." He said by watching what your potential date likes to eat, you can tell what kind of person they really are.

I'm in deep trouble: I like food that's either saucy & thick or greasy and battered.
