OK...
Non-moderators don't have the option of editing topics, even topics that they start. This is an unfortunate result of some problems we have had with trolls in the past, but I don't think it is likely to change in the immediate future. As a tradeoff, moderators owe it to members to listen carefully to and respect their wishes regarding moderation requests, where those requests are sensible and not unnecessarily onerous. Changing the title of this thread would not significantly damage the sense of the thread, would not affect the ease of finding it, as the title would be similar and the search term the same, and would not damage people's ability to understand or enjoy the thread. We don't get to ignore people's wishes purely because we think it would be funnier so to do.
So, Rob, do you still want to change the title of this thread? If so, I'll stick up the mod request, and we'll go from there through the usual moderator channels. |
