I wanted to get away from all the military gear and straps and holster and shoulder pads and stuff, and keep a classic X-Men uniform design. I've also given him cool sunglasses. And I've given him an actual cannonball for a hand. Let me know what you think.

If you look closely, you see that the cannonball hand was an afterthought. It's clearly covering up Sam's previously normal, admittedly boring flesh hand. Just shows that art doesn't come all at once in one big epiphany. It's a process.

Dude. Xavier assigns him the sidekick, because it's like this totally troubled kid from the same state as Sam (Kennahorgia or something? I forget), but the problem is that this kid is totally black and Sam has a lot of trouble relating to him. And then he gets killed and Sam feels bad about it. Pathos, man, pathos!

Actually this sounds like too a plausible Chuck Austen storyline and I'm sorry I brought it up because it's making me sad.

This is fantastic stuff, guy. Classic. I do feel he needs more guns, though (perhaps a gun for a head would be good?). Add more guns. I think some of them should be firing cannonball grenades (perhaps the gun-head?).

Some of the grenades should be exploding.

I tell you, between this awesome new design and DavidXBrunt, Barbelith's looking real good.

Can I just say I really like the way Cannonball is waving? Great expressive gesture. I saw that and thought, this is one of the good guys, y'know? This makes his problems being able to relate across racial barriers all the more tragic. Social commentary, dude. Who said comics are for kids?

if cannon ball shoots his cannonball hand from his cannon head then he should be able to regrow a new one. it's sort of like a healing factor but with a cannon ball hand.

and as for NIMROD... shouldn't that extra finger be for pulling?
