Okay, we have a test case for zero-tolerance of empty topics: zedoktar, well-known supercharger of feline souls, has started this topic. I have moved to lock it on the grounds that it is content-free, zedoktar having been interrupted before he could actually write anything very much by some unfortunate happenstance but deciding to hit post anyhow.
I can certainly see potential in a topic where people share their thoughts on various historical personages, and in a perfect world I would happily sit back and let it develop over the weekend. However, I am wary of the broken window effect. As it stands, the topic invites only two things: shouting from people who like their topics to taste topicy, and people who like the sounds of their own voices ambling by to add equally vacuous non-content. I have therefore moved to lock the thread. If any of the Temple mods feel they have to veto the move as too hasty, that's fine; however, it'd be great if someone so doing would then work towards rescuing the thread by adding meaningful content. |
