I'm coming to London for a week (29/4-7/5). Would anybody like to go out and have a little chat? I have loads of concerts to see but the 1st-4th of May would be great. Or if you know of any place that doesn't close at 11.

Shit, I'm going to see British sea power (twice!), Walkmen, Franz Ferdinand and Electric Eel Shock! Feels too good to be true really.

We're pretty much always up for a drink...

There are a variety of places that have late licences, but most of them get packed quickly as a people embark on that desperate quest for one last drink. They also have the problem that most of them offer some form of entertainment to get their late licence which usually involves music so loud you can't chat over.

So yeah, if you wanna go clubbing you can drink well into wee hours, but if you just want to chat to some mate over a drink then you are usually fucked after 11...

There's plenty of late licenses/lockins in Stoke Newington...

I'm off work for most of that week. And I'm ALWAYS up for a pint or several.

Aye, I'm up for this, I'll be around that week, I must make an effort to socialise more with fellow 'lithers...

=+=+HELLO IM NEW+=+=

I might come to a meet sometime though? Harry Christmas has a name out of Doom Patrol and likes my new favorite bands! That's very promising.

Well, looks like we got ourselves a convoy!

I'm off work until (I think) the 3rd May...

someone more organised than me suggest something.

And HK... yes, you fucking well should!

Guess it depends on where Harry is staying in London? Stokey is always a good bet but does anyone have any suggestions?

If memory serves, I think Harry said in another thread that he'd be staying in Bloomsbury. If the West End's favoured I'd be up for it.
Although that might well make Stokey more appealing still...

Oh, I'm easy for anywhere- I just suggested Stokey cos of the late drinking thing. My laziness isn't quite all-encompassing. But I'm working on it.

Where is Harry anyway! Hookay, if Harry is gonna be in Bloomsbury, shall we narrow it down to either West End and/or Stokey - I don't really drink in the West End so I'm stumped for places to meet, but of course, it's Harry's gig after all...

I would suggest that Central is better because it spreads the burden of travel for people who live in West or South London.

I'm at home til the 4th, but after that perhaps would be groovy.

I'm here! I'll be staying in Ealing till the 4th, and in Bloomsbury after that (5th and 6th). What about tuesday the 4th? Would that be ok with you, gingerbop? I have concerts scheduled for the 29th, 30th, 5th and 6th (and I'm thinking about seeing Catheters the 3rd). So for me, that means either very late night places, or 1st - 4th.

2nd's ideal for me... have stuff to do on the 1st and am working nights from the 3rd... when do you suggest, Harry? It is, after all, your gig!

Sorry, couldn't see yr previous post when writing my reply!
Does May have a 31st? I can't remember.

I can do 4th, though- I'll just not get pissed.

Axel Lambert

2nd is just as fine for me. Only Gingerbop said she couldn't then.

Look me in the eyes and answer this question:

what's wrong with going out on the piss BOTH of those nights?

EES in Islington? with ANTIPRODUCT and Robochrist? on the 5th? HELL YEAH!

AAAARRRGH!!! I'm away that whole week! awww maan... woulda been good to meet ya and perhaps drag a few more Lithers along to witness my favourite band. Oh well.

You know it's gonna ROCK!

Axel Lambert
21:25 / 21.04.04
Shame you can't be there! Are Antiproduct any good? Didn't know there were another support: Robochrist, they good?

Maybe sunday would be the best day for me after all. Might see Catheters on monday and might go to brighton on tuesday. How many of you can come on sunday the 2nd?

Axel Lambert
21:29 / 21.04.04
Of course, can't find a good answer to your question, Stoatie. Apart from that I might be in Brighton, maybe.

Thursday's Child

I've heard good things about Antiproduct... But, to be honest, it's Eel Shock I'd be there for. If the support are good, then that's a bonus.

Hey, where are you guys? Saturday or Sunday??? (1-2/5)

You know you want it!

Smoothly
13:32 / 26.04.04
Yeah. Come on, people! We don't want to London Blithers to get a reputation of being all talk and no drinking trousers.

I've got commitments at the weekend, Harry, but if you add another date in the week, I'd almost certainly be up for that.

gingerbop
16:25 / 26.04.04
Blep, Im not entirely sure what I'm doing, so just ignore me, and if you're anywhere on the 4th I may or may not see you.

Axel Lambert
19:33 / 26.04.04
What about the 4th then? The Catheters have cancelled their concert on Monday, and it doesn't seem to be any Brighton trip, since the people I would have met there have just broken up yesterday...

Tuesday the 4th?! Yeah? Yeah!

I may well be *gasp* outside of London on mayday, busy celibrating the accession of many fine countries to the EU with lashings of beer- but the tuesday thing seems fine...

Stoat-ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH

Might be able to do the 4th (only my drinking will be curtailed due to night shift...)
Saturday? You about then too?

Axel Lambert
12:03 / 27.04.04
I'll be in London Saturday, but I might have to spend some time with the people I stay with. Dunno yet, really. Might be able to make that one, too.

Axel Lambert
22:25 / 28.04.04
OK this is it, I'm leaving for London early tomorrow morning. I'll try to find a web café and check if there will be a barb-beer tuesday or other day.

See you!

Harry here. In London now. Tuesday sounds good! Anyone got a place to suggest? Smoothly? Sleaze? Stoatie? Ginger? Kovacs? Hattie? Tom? Anyone?

I recall from another thread that you like Freuds, Harry. How about there?

Yeah, I can probably do Tuesday night too.

freud's is certainly doable - and there are plenty of alternatives in the area (both filth-beer orientated and otherwise) if we get the urge to move on...
