When all the explosions start and the police car flips up - around then somewhere (lots of pausing needed as it flashes up for about 48 frames worth) big tank looking thing, with fat wheels.

I love the trailer...more than I could ever love the Spiderman movie. You see he has a multimillion dollar project that he uses as a base for his costume and we see him modifying it..ahhhh...Peter Parker made crayola drawings and came away with haut-couture for wallcrawlers. I hate the batmobile but love the fact that I could see it being modifyied into "the batmobile". Hate Neeson as I keep hearing him scream "Anakin!" Love the scenes in the artic as they remind me of 'Hinterland Who's Who"

I had lost faith after "Batman and Robin."
But I'm beginning to see that that was all just a test, right? You were testing the strength of my faith.
Glory, glory, I am healed!

Joel Shumacher should never be allowed within a thousand miles of anything remotely having to do with batman or any other comic book.

The new trailer is pretty good...finally saw it.

Liam Neeson as mentor figure always adds heaps of class to ANY film, even Star Wars: Episode I.

I'd agree with that.

Recently spoke to someone involved with the post-production. They thought it was great. Apparently it made them cry.

from an interview with Bale from darkhorizons:

>> Describing his initial feeling when he donned the costume for the very first time, Bale says "It was great, it was a great feeling. We'd done a couple of camera tests beforehand, but it wasn't the whole way. It was kinda just 'Stand there. Turn around' and everything, and inevitably after 6 months of being in it, you kinda get used to it. But I did, I felt like a panther the first day. You know I did feel like some kind of wild animal, I don't know if anybody else was looking at me [in] that way. I don't know if I appeared quite as ferocious as I felt that I did, but I really felt like everybody was kinda looking like 'oooh' (Laughs). And it does, it makes you feel like you want to kind of run and jump at people, and beat the crap out of them. And it just gives you this great neck and this physique that just looks intimidating. It's all kind of aggressive, it's all pointed forward, it's very much like a predator. And that was a thrill, doing that."

Oh yass!

The Super Bowl spot is out.

Let it be known... my birthday is next month and I desire my own Batmobile. It roars! It roars!

Given how good the script is, I'm tellin' ya, this is gonna be the Batman movie we've been hoping for.

I am currently fascinated by the fact that the old singer from James is playing Zsasz...

And here he is...

He's changed!

Ah, James. Proper angsty, self important music for teenagers. I used to sing my little heart out, I did.

Ugh [shudders]

Blimey, e 'as changed! Can't imagined the becurtained Booth carving another tally into his chest, but this guy... yeah, I could imagine him doing it.

Zsasz is in this?!?? I haven't heard about that...although I guess he's someone who's in it for like 2 seconds, maybe someone you glimpse as you walk through the hallways of Arkham...there are enough baddies in this already (Scarecrow and Ra's al Ghul, mob boss Carmine Falcone, although I hear Scarecrow's only in like the 1st quarter of the film).

also, I really like that Scarecrow design - nice and simple, twisted and spooky - like some random average guy putting on a makeshift scarecrow costume. Love the jacket and tie.

He'll appear for a little longer than that, I think, Finder...

From IGN:
1) Who is your favorite superhero or super villain and why?

Tim Booth: I should say Batman, 'cause I just got my arse kicked in the new Batman movie, by the "caped-crusader" [Editor's note: Tim plays the character Victor Zsasz] I have a tiny part, as a serial killer, and while I was in make-up, Batman was undergoing his three hour costume transformation (How these Super-heroes ever get to a crime scene on time, is beyond me!). Anyway, Christian Bale (Batman) got out of his seat, shook my hand, and said "Tim Booth? From James? Laid is one of my all time favorite albums. It saw me through a really difficult time." So, in an act of mutual, back-slapping, respect, I'll say Batman.

Unless of course it's just two seconds of arse kicking. That's left on the cutting room floor. Nobody knows! I read about him appearing in Total Film, and went "huh?! That weedy looking curtain haired man?" only to look on the internet to discover that these days he indeed sports a funny beard/hair combination. Which I would never have imagined, really.

will he glow? Doesn't Szasz glow in the comics?

To the best of my knowledge the script doing the rounds is the pre-shooting script: basically the real deal, and probably 90% of what was shot.

Minor Spoiler Alert........

I should point out that Zsasz wasn't in it (I know, I'm weak), although I am prepared to believe he has a very minor role to play.

Boboss, have you noticed though there are a few things that don't match the Internet script verbatim? Alfred's "Master Bruce. It's been a long time" line in the most recent trailer, for instance.

I've read somewhere that the Internet script has been tweaked and improved upon. Which suits me just fine. There were a small handful of repetitions and shoddy dialogue that needed polish. It'd only make the thing stronger in my opinion.

And I'd love nothing better than to go into it thinking I've got the whole thing figured out, only to be suckerpunched by a different and even better plot twist.

Zsasz is the one with tally-marks all over his body to account for the number of people he's killed. His MO is usually to slit their throats and leave their bodies in positions so that it looks like they're still alive... propping a family up in front of the telly with dad reading the evening paper, etc.

I love Zsasz. Damn fine character from Grant and Breyfogle.

Just saw the short version of the trailer in the movies with some non-comics-fan friends...my female friend turned to me in astonishment, like she was shocked that she was intruiged by a Batman movie preview, and whispered "It's like an entirely different movie!" [than the previous Batman movies, I guess she meant]

This bodes well.

The new Def Leppard rocktstic TV spot (#4, bottom of page) does a fantastic job of making this look awful. Those who were complaining about how they thought the music used in the Sin City trailers was unsuitable are going to love it.

SUIT UP. STRAP IN. TAKE OFF. OH DEAR.

But hey, marketing doesn't always get it exactly right, you know.

I keep seeing the posters for this in the subways and I'm getting psyched for it -- I'm surprised they're not releasing more pics, teasing stuff, etc. since it's coming out pretty soon.

they're showing something like an 8-minute preview of Batman Begins on May 18 during the 4th season finale of Smallville on the WB (which is rumored to introduce the Smallville-continuity Fortress of Solitude).
