At the risk of simply adding some relevancy to this screed, Rage, if you look at this thread you would see that many moderators have had the role of moderator removed from them because they haven't been performing their duties for over a month - the post also states that if any lapsed moderator wants to reassume their former role again all they need do is get in contact with tom. However I would venture to suggest that turning into a caps locked tourettes kid is not the most effective way to regain a role as a moderator.

Wow. I'm really tired now. Just started a new job, so sorry I haven't been doing my job properly. Sorry Rage - I just decided we needed to see how many people were still active moderators, so I took the responsibility away from people who hadn't suggested any actions OR VOTED ON ANY in the last thirty days. It's not a punishment of any kind and I specifically say that this is not supposed to be a statement on anyone's long-term efficiency, just that some people clearly have moved on to doing different things and dont' have the time for moderation that they once did, so it seemed appropriate to find other people who did... Sorry if that's a pain...
