Yeah, why the fuck not? There's plenty of non-racist imagery of a similar stripe out there.

What really yanks my chain is all the people justifying it with cries of "ooh, but it's caaaampy!" That and Seal's pathetic sorry-you-suck non-apology. And the fact that Marcotte has already driven one of the better female bloggers offline.

And the whole fucking thing where modern feminism currently seems to want to stab anyone who isn't a white upper-middle-class womyn-born-womyn liberal arts graduate in the fucking back, of course.

HOW FUCKING STUPID IS THE REST OF LONDON???

What would possess anyone to vote for that floppy-haired racist wanker, or indeed those Nazi thugs?

This.

Unfortunately, thanks to diverse modern phenomena such as the Iraq war, the downturn in house prices and the pure, liquid evil of the London Evening Standard, some people have been persuaded that voting against Labour makes it acceptable to vote for people who have absolutely no claim to represent the city they claim to want to run. It's all very sickening.

Maybe I should stay in Wales this weekend....

'Ken Livingstone's campaign manager Tesssa Jowell has said ...'

Herein, perhaps, lies the problem.

On what planet was sending Tessa in to get pesky Londoners back on message ever going to work? To say that Tessa Jowell couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery would be doing a diservice to angry, feckless and unpopular drunks, worldwide.

Fuck Fuck Fuck!

Can someone give me the number of an OK place to live in?

Because this place is going to be even more of a nightmare in a few years.

At the moment i'm thinking of some sort of raft.

But let's be clear about this; Boris Johnson's possible election to what's after all an administrative job is as nothing compared to the horrors inflicted on the rest of the world by the US voter, last time that was consulted.

Mon Oncle Ignatius
02:20 / 03.05.08
True. There's some small comfort there.

We've suffered worse than this in London before after all.

Though Boris is London's Bush - and we're not talking Shepherd's here.

Mon Oncle Ignatius
02:29 / 03.05.08
Can I also suggest that Tessa Jowell's influence on London's voters was marginal at best. In her dreams, of course.

Alex's Grandma
02:33 / 03.05.08
And so what if Boris Johnson doesn't care about London? Hre might despise most of it as a zone full of druggies, queens and weirdos, but what do we suppose Gordon Brown, (who actually has some administrative ability, he'll have you know) thinks about it?

He'd shut the joint down in a heartbeat, the crazy old puritan, and that, I think, is something to worry about. To the extent that this sort of thing is ever worth worrying about, at all.

Mon Oncle Ignatius
02:44 / 03.05.08
Um, well, Gordon doesn't have budget of 11 billion quid or whatever it is to spend on further 2012 fuckups and Routemasters for scoutmasters to patrol, or whatever harebrained scheme Boris might come up with. Not directly, anyway.

Mon Oncle Ignatius
02:48 / 03.05.08
Oh, and the BNP getting a GLA seat. That's a fucking blast too. Or not.

Alex's Grandma

Though Boris is London's Bush

I don't know; is he likely to declare war on, say, Cardiff in the immediate future, and then spunk a whole load of unrecoverable cash/lives/'treasure', in Tony Blair's inimitable phrase, in the process?

I do understand everyone's feelings of despair, but this isn't a big deal, IMVHO.

Mon Oncle Ignatius
03:10 / 03.05.08
One never knows with Boris. He's threatened to try to break the unions, especially on the underground, but fortunately they seem to be up for the fight.

Sorry. Bit drunken and belligerent last night.

Understandable. I'm partly guilty through dint of not remembering to register to vote in time, and not realising until it was too late that I could have done so online while I was out of the country. I know, not good. Sorry.

I got told I should have more self control and go on a diet for eating on the tube today. And the rant included eating hot food on the tube...shame the person didn't realise the pasty was A) Cold and B) what he could also smell was the hot burger a woman opposite me had in a bag from McDonalds.

I will admit that you could smell spicy steak pasty but there is no excuse for the remarks given. Rude git.

Got to love the food police, eh?

The go on a diet comment was very rude but if he had just asked if I wouldn't mind stop eating as the smell was getting to him then I would have done. What really hacks me off is the fact he thought he was justified in being insulting.

That people of reasonably high intelligence can actually behave this way.

It boggles the mind. I started reading this blog a little while ago, until the author complained about white women mixing with the filthy negro hordes. Things went downhill, culminating in posts like that.

I don't trust anyone who claims to be free of prejudices, and that is why I am fiercely opposed to anti-racism.

Er, surely a pre-requisite for anti-racism would be an awareness that people are prejudiced?

Christ. I interviewed Jim Goad recently, and even he (as a famous racist, though not a supremacist) had a much better argument than that. (Yeah, I didn't agree with it, but it wasn't quite so fucking STUPID).

Whereas Jona sounds like she's doing great.

Incidentally, that bloody NPR reporter needs to be whacked on the nose a few times with the gender sensitivity guidelines for swapping out Jona's pronoun like that. Damn shoddy, no excuse in this day and age.
