Anyone fancy getting together on the 29th? Recover from Christmas, get ready for Hogmanay?

Loomis will be in London, so come and see him before he jets off to Manchester.

Any bright ideas on where to meet?

Our Lady of The Two Towers
15:57 / 10.12.02
Aah, the 29th I shall be fending of questions from my relations about why I'm not married yet, in a hideous Bridget Jones-style parody. A couple of days later and I'll be available.

16:12 / 10.12.02
Sounds like quite a plan! Not 100% sure what's happening around that time, but hey if I'm about it'd be grand to see you both.

Fly Beezy (War Minister)
16:19 / 10.12.02
Sounds good to me: I will have only recently returned to London and in all likelihood will be looking to cause ruckus and sheenanigans.

Jorene Celeste?

Bear
16:50 / 10.12.02
Aye aye, I'll be up for this. JC place is fine for me.

Bill Posters
17:13 / 10.12.02
I'll be there if I am in London that day.

Cherry Bomb
23:15 / 10.12.02
Would love to, but I'll be in Big Windy. Have one for me...

Ariadne
10:35 / 16.12.02
Ariadne bumps this ... oh, hang on, wrong thread.

I'm just bumping this up so y'all don't forget. Mid season drinkies - at the JC, if that's okay? Party hats, crackers, party poppers and tinsel are banned.

Mourne Kransky
11:55 / 16.12.02
Ganesh and I ur gaunae be in Scoatland, regressing and wearing kilts, from 29th Ma Chère. Dommage! Have a deliriously Happy Hogmanay and Ne'erday though, Sweetie.

Tezcatlipoca
12:23 / 16.12.02
I could well be tempted out from beneath my Brighton Rock for this...

Ariadne
12:37 / 16.12.02
Ganesh and Xoc (is Ganesh getting Xocs for Christmas? tee hee) in kilts? I love kilts. Please post pictures of this.

Sax
12:42 / 16.12.02
I, too, would pay good money to see this. Name the charity of your choice.

16:47 / 16.12.02
I should be around on the 29th but not sure just yet... maybe, not liking the rule about the crackers. *sob sob*

Ariadne
16:51 / 16.12.02
*whisper* - bring crackers if you like, I'm just trying to entice along the Christmas haters....

Tezcatlipoca
16:53 / 16.12.02
Why? Why do you want us all gathered together in one - possibly air tight - place with only one exit?

Bear
17:27 / 16.12.02
I need some good crackers, all the ones so far have been terrible. I keep getting cheap little aeroplanes, not even a little set of metal puzzle rings. What's up wit dat?

Anyway the drinking haze is nearly upon us, starting on Thursday. If I don't turn up could someone make a circle of lager on the floor and chant my name three times?

Ariadne
17:42 / 16.12.02
The JC is neither airtight nor one-exited, Tezcatlipoca. I promise.

We could have a Christmassy end and a Hogmanay end of the table if you like - one strewn with cheap plastic aeroplane toys, the other with bits of coal and shortbread.

Stoat-ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH
00:12 / 17.12.02
I'd be up for it- I finish work on the 29th after working through most of Christmas, so that'd be cool.

telyn
00:12 / 17.12.02
sounds good. If I am let out for good behaviour of course

Tryphena Absent
00:48 / 17.12.02
Hurrah - (crackers ahoy) let's get drunk and start a mini riot and shave someone's head so they look like grant morrison!

Goodness Gracious Meme
01:02 / 17.12.02
hey hon -if I can afford it, i'll be bringing crackers, no fear.

and are you volunteering, for head-shaving? I can bring clippers....

My housemates would kill me with jokes about Sinead O Connor. I'd get quoted at 'well Sinead O Rebellion, shock me shock me shock me with that deviant behaviour!' And let us not forget the poor staff in the pub putting up with all that hair on the floor, we can't upset them now, huh!

The Strobe
01:06 / 26.12.02
Might be there. Depending on relatives, trains, etc. But t'would be lovely to catch up, as usual...

Tryphena Absent
01:56 / 26.12.02
What time is this happening btw?

Mourne Kransky
02:00 / 26.12.02
Pictures of Lord Ganesh and his lovely concubine wearing kilts are, sadly, embargoed. We have sold exclusive rights to Boyz for an undisclosed, and substantial, sum.

Looks like we will, in fact, be in Manchester then, merely en route to the Great Frozen Motherland. And Loomis will be in London. *fate mocks us*

Ariadne
11:25 / 26.12.02
Oh yes, timing. Em, from about 6pm? Or do people prefer to start earlier? If I start drinking too early I'll fall over by 9pm.

Tryphena Absent
17:07 / 26.12.02
That sounds great to me but I'm easy with times so if anyone wants to get there earlier I'll be happy to meet them. Bear in mind that I got up at 3pm today.

Loomis
10:52 / 27.12.02
I think the next meet should be on a train, doing a circuit round the UK. Like those party trains that go to Paris or wherever. It might be the only way to get barb folk together these days. You just get on at your stop, and do a circuit or two and get off the next time it goes past your home.

And it would mean that I don't have to sit next to a guy smelling of meat pies and tomato sauce next time I come down to London.

Sax

And it would mean that I don't have to sit next to a guy smelling of meat pies and tomato sauce

That was me! Why didn't you announce yourself?

Cavatina
15:37 / 27.12.02
hehehe. very witty, Sax.

Bear
15:54 / 27.12.02
Hing on, hing on...

Where's this pub again, I can't remember the tube stop. Somewhere in North London right?

Lurid Archive
21:20 / 27.12.02
Myself and Mordant should be able to make this, as long as neither of us contract anything fatal. But I'll only talk to people who agree that christmas is, in fact, a humbug.

Stoat-ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH
00:07 / 28.12.02
Kentish Town. Come out the tube station, turn right, and it's a ways down on your left. Often it hides behind a fruit'n'veg stall.

Stoat-ROW ROW FIGHT THE POWAH
01:19 / 28.12.02
Ooops... that's actually "come out of the tube station and turn LEFT." A subtle distinction, but an important one.
