Should there be a national curriculum? What knowledges and skills should be available to young people (and does this question have anything to do with 'school', which as any fule kno is a baby-sitting mechanism to keep employment numbers up)? What is the function of school as against church, the family or peer groups as educators? Is there a distinction between knowledges, values and skills? Should children be streamed on ability?
