The Switchboard

The Switchboard is for discussions about "Politics, activism and current affairs" and is the most topical and 'hard/world news'-focused of the fora.

Discussions here are often fairly heated and derive from events around the world. Sometimes when there's an event (a protest march, a terrorist attack) going on, it's also a good place real-time reporting. It's more often used for discussing international events, the media, direct action and civil disobedience (but not so much about organizing civil disobedience - The Gathering is for that).

Most conspiracy theories and corporate whistleblowing alerts are also at home in The Switchboard, although obviously we're not dumbasses and won't jump expectantly at every slightest bit of paranoia thrown in our direction. If the conspiracy theory or whatever has tinges of the spiritual, then it would probably fit better into The Temple and if it's about the use or misuse of science (or wouldn't sound out of place in an episode of The Outer Limits) then you should consider The Laboratory, which is really for discussion of science and stuff, but is also considered to be comfortable with some slightly more fantastic ideas.
