Signature Files

From Barbelith

A signature is a small piece of text that is often used by people on discussion forums at the end of their posts. The software that Barbelith uses self-conciously does not allow the automatic addition of sigfiles and never will (according to Tom) because the discussion is the most important thing and anything that interferes with the flow of that conversation isn't on. If you must have a quote at the end of your posts, then you can damn well type it in yourself. Also, people signing their names at the end of their posts might be asked pointedly whether they have noticed the table containing their names directly to the left of their posts. People who have a sig advertising their website or their eBay auctions are likely to get slapped down for it at some point.
