Background and General Commentary

Synopsis:

For the entertainment of Gloriana Tenebrae, Ystin is forced to duel against Galahad, who was once Camelot's most perfect knight, and now a corrupted tool of the Sheeda. Before the fight is over, Ystin's greatest secret will be revealed and we will learn the secret identity "he" had to hide in order to become a hero. Meanwhile, Don Vincenzo heeds the call of mythology and goes down fighting to the death. Ystin is forced to do the unthinkable and strike down a beloved former comrade, an act that costs our hero more than most will ever know. Gloriana has departed for the east coast in pursuit of her husband, Melmoth, but the Shining Knight is on her tail and means to bring her death!

Where does Justin's new sword come from? It's not Excalibur, and his old sword
hasn't been seen since the first issue.

PANELS 2-3: “A messenger from the east. My husband you say?
Alive? … Dark Melmoth lives?”

Mister Melmoth is currently operating out of New York City where he is causing trouble for Klarion the Witch-Boy and plotting the downfall of Limbo Town.

The messenger's runic-looking text may be a form of Ogham. Check out Omniglot's Guide to Ogham (http://www.omniglot.com/writing/ogham.htm).

Mario - "I have the first phrase being: "I bring nez of ur
husband, mistres"

PANEL 1: “That ain’t Silencio’s boys out there.”

Mr. Silencio and his boys are in league with Melmoth and were seen in Klarion #3.

Mario - "'Pen Vincit' might mean 'Don Vincenzo'. 'Y du fir sheeda'
means 'the dark man of the Sheeda'...a worthy title for 'Nebulau'.
It sounds to me like Vanguard is warning him."

There are two more examples of runic Sheeda-speak here.

Mario - "'In hefen thar iz no beer' and 'uuich iz uui uuedrinc it heer'

Apparently, the Sheeda have bad accents, and have been to
Oktoberfest."

PANEL 3: “It’s a robot! It’s a cheap #%$!%@ robot!”

Boy Blue observed the same thing about the Sheeda spider in Seven Soldiers 0.

Page 13

In PANEL 5, the Sheeda drone battling Vanguard speaks in Ogham runes again, sharing with us the following intriguing message:

"Aluuaes after me lucee charms."

Page 14

PANEL 4: “This is for Mo Colley, you bastard!”

Mo Colley was Heavyweight Boxing Champion and beloved uncle to the children of Nowhere Street. The story of his demise is told in Manhattan Guardian #4.

PANELS 2-3: “Mytho—“

The crossover with Zatanna must happen between these two panels. Vincenzo dies on the lawn after catching a glimpse of Castle Revolving overhead. Neh-Buh-Loh goes inside to retrieve the cauldron. Zatanna, Misty, and Ali show up to perform last rites. The girls wander inside where the bump into Neh-Buh-Loh. They flee on Vanguard. Neh-buh-loh carries the cauldron outside to gloat over Vincenzo’s dead body.
