Percy Bysshe Shelley
One of the most influential poets of the Romantic movement -- and indeed all of English literature. A restless traveler and believer in free love and free thought, Shelley spent most of his life outside his native England in a kind of self-imposed exile, during which he continually published not only poems of great beauty, but also works of radical, pointed political criticism.
