Imaginal World

From Barbelith

As mentioned in the Zatanna 1 annotations, (http://www.barbelith.com/faq/index.php/Zatanna_1#Page_9) this magical realm seems to be borrowed from Sufi mysticism as a kind of parallel dimension or idea-space through which magicky types can travel.

It's hard to say what it's adjacent to, but it seems to have some general similarities to Castle Revolving -- including the name Ys, which is yet another name for Avalon.

In Zatanna #1, the World comprises:

The Interreality of Ra, naturally a (green, six-sided) sun realm. Possibly related, in a cube-star way, to New York's Foundation Stone, from Guardian 2, or Misty's Die.

which leads, via The Cellars of Buddhakhamun ('khamun', I assume, means 'king' here - as in Tutan- and Khomeini/Khamenei,) to:

"Never-Be-Found", a brane universe or superstring dimension.

The Gulfs of Ys, inhabited by a frozen Red God, correspondent to Uroboros (http://altreligion.about.com/library/glossary/bldefouroboros.htm) or Jormungand, from the Norse mythology, who is predestined to eat the universe.

and finally, an unnamed Edenic garden where "all human thought is remembered". With a tree (Yggdrasil (http://www.pantheon.org/articles/y/yggdrasil.html)?) in the centre.
