1. One Mind there is; but under it two principles contend.
(chris23) This is a common theme throughout Western and Eastern mysticism. The Tao - yin/yan. SUbdivision of Kether into Chokma and Binah. This is the basis of dualism.
(iivix) Duality as a theme occurs time and time again in PKD's work. Sutin in his biography of Dick (Divine Invasions) theorises that a lot of this has to do with PKD's twin sister who died at birth. If there is a key to understanding the psychology behind a lot of the exegesis it is probably the impact that the death of Dick's twin sister had on him. The exegesis is riddled with ideas of loss and reunification, of dualism, of brother and sister. Of course, those are also common themes to many of the world's religions, so whether Dick incorporated mythology into his own psychological history, or vice versa is up for debate.
